Accelerating crime prevention, criminal justice and the rule of law: protecting people and planet and achieving the 2030 Agenda in the digital age.
In cooperation with the Hosts of the 14th UN Crime Congress (Japan) and the 15th UN Crime Congress (United Arab Emirates), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) will organize a side event devoted to the substantive preparations for the 15th UN Crime Congress (United Arab Emirates, 2026) in the margins of the sessions of the third Committee of the General Assembly at its 78th session. The event aims to shed light on the substantive preparations through the lens of the four key elements included in the overarching theme for the 15th UN Crime Congress, namely "Accelerating crime prevention, criminal justice and the rule of law" , "Protecting people and planet", 'Achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" in the "digital age", which will be considered throughout the various agenda items and workshop topics, building thereby upon the substantive achievements made at the 14th UN Crime Congress (Kyoto, 2021).
